Midlife Pain and Symptom Tracker

Your monthly log for pain, cycles, and everyday symptoms

A quick note: I am not a medical doctor. This tracker is for personal record keeping and is not medical advice. Please talk with your doctor or healthcare professional about any symptoms that concern you.

Hey you, it's me! 💋

I promised you a symptom tracker, and here it is.

When I wrote about my body hurting when no one could tell me why, and again when I wrote about what happens when the diagnosis was wrong, I kept thinking about the same frustration so many of us know. You walk into the appointment, the doctor asks how long this has been going on, and your mind goes blank.

This tracker fixes that. Two minutes a night, one month at a time, and you walk in with real information instead of a fuzzy memory. At the end of each month, come back here and print a fresh copy.

How to use it

  1. Print it and keep it by your bed with a pen. Write in the month and the date your last period started.
  2. Fill in a few lines each night. It takes about two minutes.
  3. Use the Pain Snapshot any time something hurts, so you capture the details while they are fresh.
  4. At the end of each week, check in. Write down any changes to food, exercise, sleep, or stress, and whether you felt better, the same, or worse than the week before.
  5. At the end of the month, fill in the summary. Look for patterns: poor sleep after a glass of wine, more aches the week before your period, or hot flashes that cluster at certain times.
  6. Come back and print next month's tracker. Month after month, you will see what is changing and what is helping.
  7. Bring your trackers to your appointment, along with your medications and supplements.

Symptom tracker FAQ

What should I track before a menopause appointment?

Track hot flashes, night sweats, hours and quality of sleep, mood, energy, brain fog, pain, and any bleeding. Also write down your medications and supplements, and how your symptoms affect sleep, work, and relationships.

How long should I track my symptoms?

Track one full month at a time. A month covers a whole cycle if you still have periods, and tracking month after month shows which symptoms and lifestyle changes make a difference.

Can a symptom tracker diagnose menopause or perimenopause?

No. A tracker does not diagnose anything. It gives you and your healthcare professional clear information to look at together.

Is this tracker only for menopause?

No. It works for anyone in midlife who wants to keep track of pain, sleep, mood, or energy before an appointment.
