What to Watch on Netflix This Week

My honest picks before I pack my bags.

Hey you, it's me.

I am getting ready to travel, which means I am doing the thing we all do before a trip. Scrolling for shows to download like my life depends on it.

And here is the truth I keep bumping into. There is everything to watch and nothing to watch, all at the same time.

Nineteen new titles dropped this week alone. Nineteen. I scrolled past every one of them and still sat there like the screen owed me an answer.

So let me tell you what actually made the cut.

• Voicemails for Isabelle — 9 / 10

  A romantic comedy, and you know I cannot resist a cute one. It made me smile the whole way through.

• I Will Find You — 10 / 10

  A limited series, mystery and thriller, and oh my goodness. I watched the entire thing in one day. Twist after twist, right to the edge of my seat. If you have been looking for a reason to cancel your plans, this is it.

• Flowers in the Attic — 7 / 10

  I watched this one years ago with my older daughter. Just okay for me, but the memory of watching it with her is worth more than the rating.

Then I landed on We're Back! With Brian Williams, which is a podcast. Which made me stop and ask you something.

Do you watch podcasts on television now?

I ask because not long ago I was offered a spot on Roku with Just Jelly Unfiltered. A real one. And I said not yet.

Here is the honest part. Four years in, and I am only now learning my style and who I am. I am still finding my voice. Saying no to something that good was hard. But I am learning that being offered the table and being ready to sit at it are two different things.

Maybe that is its own kind of watching. Not the screen. The waiting. Paying attention to your own readiness instead of rushing it.
